We will never be lacking steamboat and BBQ buffet choices when dining in Singapore. They are literally everywhere. After hearing all about the made on the spot egg rolls, we just have to make our way here to Hao Lai Wu Steamboat & BBQ (好来屋火锅烧烤餐厅).
Free-flow seafood, meats and everything
Spread of meat and seafood is not the best, but still acceptable if you’re looking for commonly served poultry. This includes chicken, pork and beef. Seafood includes shells like mussels and clams, as well as sliced fish, prawns and more!
Chef’s handmade eggroll specialty
Rolled on the spot by their staff, what sets Hao Lai Wu Steamboat & BBQ apart is probably this chef’s special egg mixture egg roll. We were all in awe as she managed to roll the eggs in one smooth pull of the parchment paper below.
If you’re feeling creative, or prefer to have your own personal egg mixture, feel to invent your own egg mixture! It’s also good to note that although their friendly staff are more than happy to help you cook your roll, they may be unable to help when the crowd is overwhelming!
Crystal clear child-safe pots used
To our amazement, the pot did not feel scalding hot even after we left it boiling at the highest temperature the whole time. Also, the metal ladles that we left inside the boiling soup were at room temperature – we were thoroughly impressed.
This is definitely good news for families (with young children) or friends (with clumsy individuals)! We can dine at ease without constantly worrying about anyone touching the sides of the pot.
Mix your own sauces as well
Feel free to concoct your own sauce at the sauces station in Hao Lai Wu Steamboat and BBQ~ The peanut sesame sauce was a little watered down but the variety was still reasonable!
Seat compartments for your belongings
One of most common concerns of dining at a BBQ/grill restaurant will probably be the smell stained everything when you’re done with your meal. Despite the smoke-less grill, my hair and clothes definitely still had the smell of grilled food.
Fortunately, this bag compartment really works. It actually also made me few more at ease when I leave my seat for the nth number of food servings.
Priced at $17.80+ for weekday lunch and $22.80+ for weekday dinner, I would say my dining experience in Hao Lai Wu Steamboat & BBQ was a rather pleasant one – the food wasn’t to die for but still pretty decent and worth a try! 🙂 You may also wish to visit them on weekends or PH lunch/dinner at $22.80+!
